$1 Million Fundraising Effort Needed To ‘Reenergize’ Kepler’s Bookstore Into The Future
“Almost four months after Clark Kepler handed over ownership of his family’s namesake bookstore to a group of volunteers, the venerable Menlo Park institution still needs a big financial infusion by the end of summer.”
“The collective inherited nearly $1 million in debt, said San Francisco bookstore owner Praveen Madan, one of many volunteers who stepped up in an effort to save Kepler’s from closing.”
“”The store had a lot of problems, it had a lot of debt, it was losing a lot of money,” added Madan, the 46-year-old owner of Booksmith.”
