Check out this article called “San Jose backs curbside dining, but businesses mull new costs” by Lauren Hepler and learn more about a new one-year pilot program that the city of San Jose is experimenting with…
“For downtown San Jose restaurant Pho 69, attracting new business in the city’s SoFA district known for its artsy edge hasn’t always been easy.
“After opening the restaurant at 321 South First St. in late 2010, Pho 69 owner Teresa Bui said that monthly SoFA First Friday art walks helped build a following, since the event allowed the restaurant to experiment with outdoor dining and grilling.
“In addition to permitting Pho 69 to serve new fare designed for outdoor grilling – think crispy wonton carne asada tacos – Bui said outdoor dining helped both drive traffic and “build community” for restaurants down the block.”
