5 Excuses Why You AREN’T Using Content Marketing
The founder of J.C. Penney said…
“I do not believe in excuses. I believe in hard work as the prime solvent of life’s problems.”

Deion Sanders And Excuses
Mike Lupica tells a very powerful story about Deion Sanders and excuses in Esquire. He says…
Deion “Prime Time” Sanders, outfielder for the Atlanta Braves and cornerback for the Atlanta Falcons, is the only athlete to have hit a Major League home run and scored an NFL touchdown in the same week.
How did he manage this?
Sanders grew up on the mean streets of Fort Myers, Fla., where exposure to some would-be athletes spurred him to make a success of himself. He explains:
“I call them Idas. ‘If I’da done this, I’d be making three million today…If I’da practiced a little harder, I’d be a superstar.’ They were as fast as me when they were kids, but instead of working for their dreams they chose drugs and a life of street corners. When I was young, I had practice; my friends who didn’t went straight to the streets and never left. That moment after school is the moment we need to grab. We don’t need any more Idas.”
Many business owners have heard about content marketing, some have even tried it a little.
But there is a segment of business owners who still haven’t bothered to harness the power of content marketing.
5 Excuses Why You Aren’t Using Content Marketing
If that’s you, I bet that these are 5 of the excuses you don’t use it:
1. You are too busy running your business.
I understand that you’re busy. And I wouldn’t encourage you to take any time doing things that don’t matter.
But you don’t think that promoting and marketing your business is a waste of time, do you?
Then you shouldn’t think of content marketing as that way either.
2. You are too busy trying to get more customers.
Exactly. And what are your customers actually looking for right now? Information.
And better yet. They will share you with their friends and associates.
Wouldn’t you like that? 🙂
3. You don’t consider yourself a writer.
You don’t have to be an English major. I’m not.
You don’t have to be a punctuation expert. I’m definitely not!
You do have know your business and what you do well.
You do have to be able answer prospects questions.
The rest you can learn and become good at as you practice and begin creating content.
And remember something important.
Content marketing isn’t always just text. It can be audio, video and more.
Even if you can’t write, you can talk, right?
4. You’ve tried content marketing, but you didn’t see any results.
Maybe you’ve tried blogging for a little while.
Maybe you’ve even posted a few YouTube videos.
That’s great. But if you didn’t see any results from those activities, don’t be surprised.
You need to remember that content is NOT rare anymore.
It has become a commodity.
And if you are going to create content, then you can’t just create any-old generic, or average, content.
Your content must be engaging, have personality, and be as entertaining as possible.
Otherwise the time you took in creating your content will be wasted.
5. You still don’t understand what the purpose of content marketing is.
You don’t see the benefits of spending time creating content. Again I understand.
But let me ask you two questions:
1. How come you’re reading this?
2. Why do you regularly visit BayBusinessHelp.com?
It’s because we provide you with a wide variety of curated and created content.
It helps you. It answers your questions. It entertains you.
And for those reasons you keep coming back for more.
That’s why you share our posts with others.
Eventually, it will be the reason why a percentage of you will purchase products, services and coaching that we offer.
And without the content none of that would happen.
