Expert Feature: Why Don’t Facebook Posts from My Favorite Pages Appear in My News Feed?
Have you noticed that some of your favorite pages rarely post content any longer?
Do you wonder what happened to the brand or their page? Then, when you visit the brand’s Facebook page you find they post every day – and yet you’ve never seen this content!
Has this happened to you?
Who Decides What Content You See
Well, the fact is that Facebook must make decisions about content from your friends and pages to display.
The company make those decisions based on the popularity of a post – and also how often you interact with a page’s content. No longer can we simply look at the unfiltered feed of posts from our friends and liked pages.
Facebook believes that an unfiltered feed is simply too much information and ranking the content is the only way to please their customers.
There Is A Solution
The good news is that a solution exists.
You can receive notifications from any page that you follow. To make sure you’re notified whenever a page posts new content, simply do the following:
- Navigate to a Facebook page.
- Like the page. (If you’ve already liked this page, skip this step.)
- Hover your mouse over the “Liked” button until a dropdown appears.
- Select “Get Notifications” and “Show in News Feed.”
See Figure 1 above for details.
Once you’ve completed the steps above, you’ll receive notifications (the little red, numbered circles at the top of the Facebok page) whenever a new post is added to this Facebook page.
The content from this page will also be visible on your news feed.
In our agency, we use this feature to follow content from our clients and their competitors, our vendors, competitors, press, etc. We know that we won’t miss anything important because we’re notified every time something new posts.
How will you use this feature for your business? We’d love to hear from you.
